Privacy Policy
Please note that this notice should be read in detail before using this site.
bpresent is concerned about protecting your privacy. This policy sets out how we handle any personal
details we collect (eg. email addresses), web traffic recording data (web logs) and cookies.
Your personal details
We will only record your personal details (such as your name, phone number and email address) if
you send it to us using one of our enquiry or contact forms, or in an email or terrestrial
correspondence.
The details will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it, and
you will not be added to a mailing list (unless you expressly request it).
We will not use your details for any other purpose and will not disclose it without your consent.
Electronic mail submitted to bpresent is handled and saved according to the provisions of the
Privacy Act 1988 (refer to the Guide to Privacy for Small Business produced by The Office of the Federal
Privacy Commissioner (Australia) for more details of our obligations under this Act).
Web traffic data
When you visit a bpresent web site, our web servers make a record of your visit and log the
following information for statistical and security purposes:
the server address of your internet service provider,
the web addresses of the pages at our site your visit and the
documents, images and other data (eg. mp3 files) you view or download,
the date and time of the visit,
the type of browser you are using (eg. Internet Explorer, Netscape).
We do not have access to any data that uniquely identifies you or the physical location you
are viewing our site from.
We routinely examine this information to determine the traffic through our servers, to find
the most popular pages at our site, and, perhaps most importantly, to determine if malicious
users are attempting to gain access to our databases.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data which is sent from our web server to your web browser when you
access certain pages (usually forms) at our site. The cookie is stored on your machine,
but it is not an executable program and cannot do anything to your machine. All bpresent cookies
are short term and/or session cookies and "expire" quite quickly, usually in about 20 minutes.
We use cookies for two reasons. Firstly to retain your selected preferences while you are moving
about the site. Secondly, we use them as a security measure to ensure that a page is being visited
by a person and not by a malicious (spam producing) robot.
Disclosure and Publication of Information
We do not publish any of the information you provide to us, unless of course you are providing it to
us as part of the process of creation of a web site for you, in which case we will only publish it as
agreed with you.
In short, no information you provide us will be used or disclosed by us either without your consent
or as required by law.
We are concerned about internet privacy (as eBusiness Consultants it is one of our key specialty areas)
and we strongly recommend that you avail yourself of the information provided in the Office
of the Federal Privacy Commissioner's On-line Privacy Tools. (Some of the
free tools mentioned there are also useful precautions against "worm" viruses.)
